The majestic figure of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz is enthroned at the top left of the façade. The great scholar is depicted in his characteristic style - with a curly wig and clad in elegant robes, the Leibniz monument at the Künstlerhaus conveys an aura of statesmanlike dignity. The scholar's calm countenance bears witness to his profound intellectual vigour.
The Leibniz Monument at the Künstlerhaus was created by the sculptor Carl Dopmeyer (1824-1899). With masterful craftsmanship and a deep understanding of how to depict great personalities, Dopmeyer created an ensemble here that transports viewers to times gone by and pays tribute to the importance of these outstanding scholars.
