The Leibniz Frieze on the façade of the New City Hall to Trammplatz shows important scenes from Hannover's city history.
Karl Gundelach created this depiction, which stands in a series with the great events of the city's history. The city model in the entrance hall from 1689 shows the city at the time of Leibniz.
A notable scene is Electress Sophie placing a laurel wreath on Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in 1680. Leibniz remained loyal to the city because of his close relationship with Sophie and held legendary conversations with her in the Herrenhausen Gardens.
