"The Ship" by Massimo Iosa Ghini
Massimo Iosa Ghini from Bologna was originally a comic-strip artist until he got involved with furniture design and film sets. He is the founder of the Bolidismo movement, which deliberately used curves, ellipses and streamlined shapes as design elements. The Rathaus / Friefrichswall bus stop was also created with these elements in the design of the ship.
In fact, the ship once stood 100 metres further on in front of the Wanegnheim City Palace until it sailed in front of the August Kestner Museum in 2013.
Buses of line 120 stop at the bus stop Rathaus/Friedrichswall.
