Dotan with two new dates in Germany!

Dotan is back - and more powerful than ever before. The Dutch singer-songwriter has already conquered the international charts several times with his unmistakable voice and touching folk songs. But his path there was anything but straightforward: Dotan Harpenau was born in Jerusalem in 1986 to an Israeli father and a Dutch mother.

After his parents separated, he moved to Amsterdam with his mother, where he discovered his passion for music at an early age. At the end of 2009, he took a bold step: he wrote a spontaneous email to the renowned producers Martin Terefe and Sascha Skarbek and asked for their support. Impressed by his talent, they invited him to their London studio just one week later. The songs for his debut album "Dream Parade" were created there, which was released by EMI Records in 2011 and achieved its first chart successes in the Netherlands. But as the success grew, so did the pressure on Dotan, and he decided to take an unconventional route: instead of performing directly in large halls, he played living room concerts. These intimate performances quickly became his trademark - no stage lights, no show effects, just a guitar and his unique voice. This authenticity was also important to him in the production of his second album "7 Layers" - and this passion for imperfection gave him his breakthrough. The single "Home" catapulted him to the top of the Dutch charts in 2014 and the album went double platinum. To this day, "7 Layers" is one of the most successful albums of all time in his home country. After a creative break, Dotan returned in 2021 with his third album "Satellites". Here he not only showed musical maturity, but also demonstrated the courage to tackle profound and personal topics - the album's lyrics reflect his inner development and the challenges of his career. With his latest work "A Little Light in the Dark", Dotan strikes a more positive note: the lyrics are characterised by hope and joie de vivre. But personally difficult experiences are also dealt with on this album - for example on the single "No Kissing on a Sunday", a powerful anthem for more openness and self-determination after his partner's parents reacted negatively to his coming out. In the new year, fans can look forward to two shows in Hamburg and Hanover.
