Timeless and elegant - "The Functional" by Jasper Morrison
The British designer Jasper Morrison, born in London in 1959, is characterised by a clear, well-proportioned and minimalist style. He strives for simplicity and emphasises that complicated things are not suitable for everyday use.
"For me, simplifying things is a very natural goal. Because complicated things are not really made for everyday use," Morrison explains his preference for purist forms.
Morrison's design for the Aegidientorplatz bus stop required special solutions, including an innovative showcase construction, due to its high demands on proportions and precision.
Due to his focus on suitability for everyday use, Morrison was later also commissioned with the design of the new TW 2000/2500 light rail vehicles, known as the "Silver Arrows" in Hanover.
